Working in London can be challenging sometimes – even for those who usually brush off such conditions as TSL (Texo Scaffolding London). But this job was something special and a challenge the TSL team willingly accepted without hesitation..
The atrium lightwell scaffolding was a particularly complex cantilever scaffold. Due to its proximity to the atrium lightwell, there was no direct access to the ground floor. All the materials were delivered to the site by our Hiab lorry and placed on the gantry scaffold. Materials were then manually handled up to the 7th-floor balcony and into the building, ready for erection by our advanced scaffolders.
With several businesses occupying the bottom six floors of the building, we decided that out-of-hours work was necessary.
The advanced scaffolders fixed tubular materials, boards, fittings and prefabricated beams to form a cantilevered scaffold for the glazing and the panel and slab extension works. The prefabricated beams were then to be fixed with mechanical ties into the existing slab. The beams would also secured by erecting a propped independent scaffold internally from slab to underside of slab and cantilevered into the atrium/lightwell. An independent scaffold would then be erected off the beams and tied into existing ring beams. The scaffolding would erected with integral ladder access points and a triple handrail with a single toeboard. The team then installed fire retardant debris netting to negate tools or materials falling from height.
The scaffolding team completed all scaffolding works within the main contractor's programme.

Redington House was a fully occupied tenant block. Due to this, our clients told Texo to erect the access scaffold with minimal disruption to tenants.
Redington House was in disrepair, and we had to erect the scaffolding quickly and safely. Along with the obvious Health & Safety requirements, Texo were tasked with managing all tenant complaints and grievances simultaneously.
The eight-storey block had fully boarded scaffold with a complete design.

"We had a complex project that required a steel frame to support the scaffold in the Lightwell area. We completed the work in 10-hour night shifts due to imposed daytime restrictions."

This historic building is where Churchill was said to have stood and watched the Nazi air raids over London in World War Two. It is set on the Embankment directly adjacent to the Savoy Hotel. The scheme consisted of complete stone restoration and cleaning.
This building is a fully occupied working building, including trading floors. Therefore, the need for quiet working hours was paramount to cause as little disruption as possible.
The scaffold was a complete design of Independent gantries, Hoist towers, staircases, hanging scaffolds and crash decks.
The client complimented operatives for their excellent attitude and work ethic.

Undertaken for a mains gas pipe installation on two 20-storey tower blocks, the client GH Preston was under considerable time restraint with this project and knew they could rely on Texo to work alongside and achieve what was required.
We had done the similar scaffolding many times before, yet what set this job apart from the other jobs, was the strict time restraints imposed on us by the contract. Seeing the team pull together made it challenging yet ultimately fulfilling.

TSL undertook this major renovation project that involved erecting scaffolding under challenging conditions. Traffic management played a crucial role, as the scaffold needed to be erected in the car park areas without occupying any parking spaces and allowing residents to move around freely while we worked on the scaffolding.

This project was adjacent to the High Street and required Texo to play an integral part in building a multipurpose residential scheme consisting of numerous flats and housing.
Hounslow is a bustling suburb of London. Pedestrian management was always a priority, and our on-site team set up exclusion zones & pedestrian diversions to segregate the public from work areas.
The scaffold was a mix of progressive traditional housebuilding and full independents to R.C frame buildings.
The scaffolding team completed all scaffolding works within the main contractor's programme.
